Project Description:
Hawthorn Senior Apartments is an affordable housing development for seniors ages 55 and older, consisting of 103 homes and developed by the Santa Clara County Housing Authority (“SCCHA”). The project is located at 715 East St John St in the City of San José. The proposed development will consist of 36 studios, 62 one-bedrooms, 5 two-bedrooms (including two staff units). The project includes 21 Permanent Supportive Housing (“PSH”) units to help homeless seniors with special needs obtain and maintain permanent housing, 26 Project Based Section 8 units for senior households earning up to 30% area median income (“AMI”), 4 general affordable units for senior households at 30% area median income, and 50 units for senior households earning up to 50% AMI.

Residential amenities include but are not limited to: resident services and property management offices, laundry facilities, community room and lounge spaces, outdoor open spaces, parking structure with 45 spaces, and indoor bike storage.

Pets: Pets are allowed at this property, with a $300 pet fee per pet (max of 2).

Smoking: No smoking is allowed in the apartments, grounds or common areas. Smokers must exit the property to smoke.
